Senior Tax Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Tax Accountant with extensive knowledge and experience in taxation for business entities and public accounting. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in preparing and reviewing tax returns for various entity types (C-Corps, S-Corps, Partnerships, and LLCs) and providing high-value advisory services to business clients. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who is committed to delivering excellence while keeping up to date with changes in tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities


Tax Preparation & Review:

  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for business entities, including C-Corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, and LLCs.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance with tax regulations, and timely delivery for all assigned projects.

Tax Research & Advisory:

  • Research intricate tax issues affecting business entities and provide actionable solutions.
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies to align with their business goals while minimizing tax liabilities.
  • Provide guidance on entity structure, tax elections, and implications for new or transitioning businesses.

Client Management:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business clients, maintaining strong and professional relationships.
  • Communicate technical tax matters clearly, concisely, and client-friendly.
  • Respond promptly to client inquiries and resolve issues to ensure satisfaction.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other accountants to provide seamless service to clients.
  • Mentor junior staff members by sharing expertise and reviewing their work for quality and accuracy.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and implement technology-driven solutions to increase efficiency.
  • Stay informed about current tax regulations and trends affecting business entities and share insights with the team.

Qualifications


Education & Certification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferable, but experience will be taken into consideration.
  • A CPA license or EA designation is preferred, but experience will be taken into consideration.

Experience:

  • 4–6 years of experience in tax preparation and advisory, with a strong focus on business entities.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and reviewing tax returns for C-Corps, S-Corps, Partnerships, and LLCs.
  • Experience with trial balances, year-end adjusting journal entries, and other complex year-end accounting tasks.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in tax software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte, or UltraTax) and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks®, Xero).
  • Solid understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations, including corporate tax updates and deadlines.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
