M. Robbins, CFP®, CPA
Athena, a founding member of Carmines Robbins
& Company, PLC, has 13 years of experience as a CPA including 3 years
on the accounting and audit staff of regional accounting firm Goodman
and Company, and seven years a owner of a large local certified public
accounting firm. Athena graduated Magna Cum Laude from Old Dominion
University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration,
with a concentration in accounting. She has served clients in most
industries; she has extensive audit experience, concentrating in the
area of nonprofit organizations, real estate developments, manufacturers,
and the construction industry. Athena has recently given presentations
on education benefits, including a speech on the Hope and Lifetime
Tax Credits at the fall conference of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
In 1996 she received the Designation of Certified Financial Planner
after passing a nationally administered examination. She specializes
in the needs of small businesses, working with the owners to minimize
their taxes while maximizing their business and personal income. She
serves on the Board of Thomas Nelson Community College in Hampton,
Virginia.
